Music, art, literature, and nature…

Rainy days…

I really love the rain. It makes me calm and peaceful. However, last Monday I was shocked to wake up at 1 am and saw how the strong winds harassed my plants. I was really worried about my poor celosia plants especially the tallest one. Thank God my brother was there, he was the one who woke up first. We moved the plants under the shade to protect them from the strong winds. It was quiet scary since my tallest celosia already has a small bud (and it’s pink). I don’t want it to be cut off before it fully blooms.

It’s still raining, and it’s already Wednesday. My plants are fine. They love the rain (but not the strong winds though) unlike my zinnia plants that suffered from mildew. They are my first plants. That’s why it is heartbreaking to let them go, but I had to do that because they no longer grew properly after cutting the affected leaves. My celosia plants are different. They love the sun as well as the rain. That’s why they are growing healthily and are about to produce flowers.

I just hope the rain will stop soon. Even though I love the rain, now that I am taking care of a lot of plants, well… it just needs to stop soon because I can’t tend my plants properly. It is hard to prune plants and check them while I’m holding an umbrella. I usually get wet… ^.^
